The quantum Higgs boson is the particle excitation associated with the Higgs field.

Abstract

The quantum Higgs boson is the particle excitation of the Higgs field. In the Standard Model, the Higgs field is linked to electroweak symmetry breaking and to the masses of many elementary particles through their couplings to the field. The Higgs boson provides an experimentally observed window into this mechanism and remains a major target for precision measurements.

Overview

In the Standard Model, the Higgs field is connected with electroweak symmetry breaking and the origin of mass for many elementary particles.
