Known for Quantum Field Theory and the Standard Model

Matthew D. Schwartz is an American theoretical physicist.[1]

Career and work

Schwartz is professor of physics at Harvard University. His research spans quantum field theory, particle physics, machine learning for physics, collider calculations, jet substructure, and the analytic structure of scattering amplitudes.[1][2]

His group has worked on long-distance behavior in field theory, S-matrix questions, vacuum stability, effective field theory, and deep-learning methods in collider physics.[2][1]

He is linked from the QFT page through Quantum Field Theory and the Standard Model, a graduate text that connects field-theory methods with Standard Model physics.[3][1]

Selected works

  • Quantum Field Theory and the Standard Model (2014).
  • Research papers on effective field theory, jet physics, machine learning, and scattering amplitudes.
