Vladimir Borisovich Braginsky (3 August 1931 - 29 March 2016) was a Russian physicist known for precision measurement, gravitational-wave detector physics, and quantum nondemolition measurement.
Quantum context
Braginsky developed ideas for measuring observables while minimizing quantum back-action. These quantum nondemolition methods became important in gravitational-wave interferometry and other precision measurement systems.
His work connects quantum measurement theory with practical instruments that operate near fundamental noise limits.
