David Tong is a British theoretical physicist at the University of Cambridge.[1]

Career and work

Tong is a professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.[1][2]

His research concerns quantum field theory and its applications, including solitons, dualities, and connections between field theory, string theory, and condensed matter ideas.[1]

He is also widely known for freely available lecture notes on theoretical physics, including quantum field theory, statistical physics, gauge theory, and the Standard Model.[3][2]
